Product Description

This medium-heavy coated rutile-type electrode is designed for hard surfacing applications on mild steel, carbon steel, and low alloy steel, particularly where a hardness of 550 Brinell is desired. The weld deposits produced by this electrode are non-machinable and can be easily detached by grinding off the slag.

Ideal for surfacing a variety of tools and components subjected to wear and abrasion, including metal cutting and forming tools, shears, croppers, oil expellers, cane cutting knives, conveyor buckets, and mixer blades. It is recommended to limit the deposit to no more than 3 layers. In cases involving difficult steel or carbon steel, it is advisable to use a cushioning layer such as P-401 for optimal results.
